
Dr. Hancock originally hails from Oak Harbor, Washington.
Born into a Navy family, as a child she moved frequently, finally landing in Virginia. From the time she was very small, she has always wanted to be a veterinarian.
Dr. Hancock graduated from Virginia Tech in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Animal Science, and received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 1995. Her veterinary interests include reproductive medicine and working with dog fanciers and breeders.
Dr. Hancock resides in Chesapeake with her two daughters. Her own animal menagerie includes two Great Danes, a Shih Tzu, three cats, two horses, and nine chickens. Activities with her Great Danes include competing in conformation, obedience, and agility events. She enjoys living on a backyard farm. Other favorite activities include cross stitch, swimming, and bowling.
